INTRODUCTORY Beginner Racing Lesson Program 

for young skiers who want to go fast!

Named after former Olympian Julie Parisien who learned to ski here at Lost Valley! Julie has been known to make surprise appearances in this program from time to time

This is not a team. If you are looking to join a racing team please see Lost Valley Competition Program

• First step in young racer development. 
  • ​Great for kids with no prior race experience, who have completed our basic lesson programs and want to take it to the next level. 
• Follows PSIA guidelines for safety and basic skiing skills
• Follows USSA Ski Racing Guidelines which emphasize skiing with speed
  • Balance, turn shape, angulation, edging, and  pressure control will be emphasized through directed skiing
  • Focuses on and understanding of racecourse etiquette
• Prepare for entering citizen races such as the Maine Ski Challenge at Lost Valley on Sundays at 1 p.m.!

Mondays from 5:45-7pm

Starts the first full week in January

Participants should have a solid foundation in skiing or snowboarding before taking this class.

Slopestyle is skiing or snowboarding down a course including a variety of features including rails, jumps and other terrain park elements. Our class is designed to practice the various elements surrounding slopestyle including planning your tricks, approaching features, flat ground tricks, ollies, butters, how to jump, land, ride in switch etc.  The course may go inside or outside of the terrain park area.

Ages 7 and up

Mondays from 5:45-7pm

Parental Participation ON SKIS Required in All Sessions:

Parents will be actively taking part in each lesson ON SKIS and must already be competant and comfortable skiing beginner trails and riding lifts. 

This program is designed to teach skiing to the child while offering the parent tips on how they can continue to ski with their young children outside of the lesson on their own time. 

Lost Valley will provide 1 complimentary lift ticket to parent or guardian of students under age 7. Limit one Parent ticket per Student/Session

Eight 1 hr lessons plus independent skiing 

• Rental sizing must be made prior to Jan 1 so that we can have your equipment ready when you arrive. Please do not wait until the day of the lesson as this will cause significant delays and may result in lost lesson time.
